 Diamond Jubilee Celebrations

01.06.2012

Today, at Carlton, we had a very special party to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Each class showcased a country from the Commonwealth.

Early Years sang the national anthem of Great Britain, Year 1 gave us some fantastic facts about Canada, Year 2 chose to demonstrate the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth in the United Kingdom, Year 3 sang the national anthem of Kenya, Year 4 sang the national anthem of India, Year 5 gave us a fabulous Australian performce of The Wiggles and Year 6 performed New Zealand's traditional war chant - The Haka.

The children loved dressing up and performing for everyone. The scones and buns were delicious too!

Thank you to all our parents and carers for supporting us. Below are some photos and videos from a fun packed afternoon!

Kirklees Council donated a 15ft Oak tree to Carlton to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. School Council spent this afternoon planting it in our Forest School!

Take a look at the video below and don't forget to look out for our commemorative tree!
